Hilanders’ client Hilding Anders wanted an alarm app for their bed brands in order to give service to their customers in a new way.
The iPhone app ‘MySleep’ might seem like a regular alarm app at first sight. But in the concept phase we decided on two distinctive areas to improve – sounds and sleep improvements (statistics). Choose from sounds like hearing the wind hits the sail or why not the neighbor’s lawnmower? All sounds could be used to either fall asleep or waking up to. A wake-up view gives you the latest news and local weather report together with an opportunity for you to rate your sleep. These stats, together with the tracking of sleep hours, will improve your sleep.
I worked on the concept and all copywriting in Swedish and English.
Result and learnings
Writing copy for apps is not similar to any other copywriting. Naming a button can take forever – the user must immediately understand the function of the button and the word must be short. Very short. But great fun seeing “your” app on app store! Some amazing reviews is out there and the client is happy to reach potential clients in a new way.
